Provides students the opportunity to volunteer in the community. Community service projects are planned to coincide with National Service Days and completed by youth in partnership with local Rotarians. Youth Advisory Board works with area adults and Rotarians to develop ideas for community service projects and assists with recruitment of volunteers to complete projects. - - - All Dressed Up: Makes prom more affordable for teens in western Wisconsin, specifically reaching out to families that are financially strained. The campaign provides dresses, accessories and services to young women who want to attend their high school prom. Collects and cleans ready to wear prom gowns, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories. Also takes apparel for men, such as suits, tuxedos and dress shoes. In early spring an open house is hosted that is free and open to the young people and their families. - - - Youth and adults plan annual events and activities designed to develop prevention skills of young people within the community. - 64 bed homeless shelter which houses eight families/25 individuals for 30 - 90 days. Comfort and service animals are allowed to stay in the shelter with individuals who have them. Average stay is 52 days. - - - Emergency assistance including electric bill payment assistance; gas bill payment assistance; heating fuel bill payment assistance; water bill payment assistance; utility deposit assistance; rent payment assistance (for individuals in danger of being evicted or for people needing first month's rent to get into new housing); rental deposit assistance for individuals in danger of being evicted or for people needing a rental deposit to get into new housing; return to point of origin assistance; general apparel; school clothing; winter clothing; gently used furniture; emergency dental care (dentures and extractions); medications (antibiotics and mental health prescriptions); and homeless motel vouchers when funding is available. Financial assistance for car repairs is also available.
