Provides limited rental assistance to residents in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater who have an eviction notice. As funds available.
Emergency funds are available through the efforts of several local churches that set aside funds for families living in the community that are in need or emergency assistance. Assistance depends on available funds.

Links grandparents and other relative caregivers to:
- support groups,
- provides education,
- increases access and
- offers case management along with financial support.
Financial support is in the form of:
- rental and utility assistance,
- funds for purchases of bedding, furniture,
- car repairs,
- gas/bus vouchers and
- medications for the child.
Emergency aid is available for those who qualify. Please contact the Kinship Navigator.
Low income family members raising a relative child(ren) under the age of 18 and are residents of Thurston, Mason or Lewis County.
Provides immediate assistance to service personnel and families whose lives have been directly affected by Operation Iraqi Freedom and America’s war on terror.
Can provide financial assistance for needs such as:
- Child care
- Car repair
Refers callers to their local post, who then contacts the servicemember or family to see how assistance can be provided locally.
Assists the family in applying for Temporary Financial Assistance if minor children are in the home.
Active duty military and their immediate family OR
Any veteran possessing an up-to-date membership in the American Legion.
No child is considered eligible for Temporary Financial Assistance until a complete investigation is conducted at the post or department level.
A legitimate family need is determined; and all other available assistance resources have been utilized or exhausted.

This fund may be disbursed to indigent veterans and their families or the families of those deceased in the amount not to exceed $800 per applicant per calendar year, not to exceed two years, unless the indigent veteran qualifies for additional funds.
After one year of waiting, the veteran may reapply for further assistance with proof of eligibility. (Exceptions are burial and catastrophic expenses)
Approval granted only for the following:
1. Past Due Rent or Mortgage
2. Past Due Utilities; electric, water or Natural Gas
3. Needed Food Items
4. Needed Fire Wood or Propane
Honorably discharged veteran or eligible family member of a veteran who meets the definition of veteran as defined by law.
The county defines "indigent and suffering" to mean the current poverty level as defined by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Applicants must be a resident of the Mason County for at least ninety (90) days.
Applicant must present proof of residency and income.
On-site community resources (Utilities assistance, gas vouchers, etc).
Rental/mortgage assistance may be available.
Call in advance to check on funding and to schedule an appointment.
Offered in Spanish when Spanish-speaking staff are present.
Rochester area residents in extreme need. Must meet general income guidelines.

Provides rental and utility assistance for people who would otherwise lose their housing.
Participants are also offered case management services.
Also, if the Housing Resource Center is not able to help directly, they may also help with a housing search or other appropriate referrals to agencies.
