There are many homeless services in the Slocum, RI region, including shelters of all types, bathing facilities, and mail facilities. And, if you want to help, there are also volunteer opportunities available.
Crossroads Rhode Island assists the homeless and disconnected as they journey toward a better quality of life. They do this by providing a continuum of care that includes basic emergency needs, shelter, housing, case management and vocational services for individuals and families.
Crossroads Rhode Island provides three main categories of services: Crisis Intervention, Shelter and Housing, and Vocational Services. Their crisis intervention services provide assistance to individuals seeking shelter, basic needs, and emergency transportation. Their Adult Services Program provides case management that helps clients access a continuum of services that help them move out of homelessness: shelter, housing, health care, job training, and employment services. Crossroads Shelter and Housing programs are all supported by case management and serve homeless and very low income single men and women as well as senior citizens and families. Crossroads Vocational Services includes one-on-one adult education programs for GED, math and reading literacy, Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program, Work Readiness and job retention. The Copy Center at Crossroads is an in-house micro-business that provides print shop services to local businesses while featuring an intense, hands-on training program for their homeless and near-homeless clients. The training program takes place in the state-of-the-art print production facility.Program:Adult Services--Shelter and Case ManagementBudget: $2,085,965Category: Human ServicesPopulation Served: Homeless
