Care and Share is a Christian-based, non-profit organization of volunteers whose mission is to suport and meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community. The means by which we do this is through the operation of a thrift store in which we receive donations of clothing and other household items. We in turn either sell the items, raising money to finance our purpose, or giving the items to those in dire need. Most items are sold for 25 cents.

Downtown Daily Bread (DDB) serves the poor and homeless of Harrisburg by providing lunch every day of the year from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Boyd Memorial Building of the Pine Street Presbyterian Church, located at 234 South Street, Harrisburg . DDB also offers phone, mail service, and lockers, as well as clothing for men and women. Showers are also available. Showers: Monday-Wednesday-Friday - 9am - noon Clothing Room: Thursday - 9 am till noon Mail: Monday through Friday - 9 am until noon Lockers: Monday through Friday - 9 am until noon Life Skills Classes: Monday through Thursday - 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm In addition, a client counselor and a mental health counselor are available (Monday through Friday - 9am until noon) to help clients access DDB services and the services of other social agencies. DDB has collaborations in place with many organizations in the area.
