If a person received help last year, they must wait for the 2012 funding to arrive to apply for help.We assist low-income households with utility bill assistance once in a calendar year. We also assist these households with weatherization of their homes, if needed, to help reduce the cost of their energy bill.We process only complete applications, and if approved, a pledge will be made on your utility account and the application is entered into a database and those files are transferred to the State's database for payment. The payment will then show up on your utility company bill in 8 to 12 weeks.For propane or kerosene, we pay the utility company within 30 to 60 days

HOMELESS PREVENTION AND RAPID REHOUSING PROGRAM - HPRP is a program designed to provide assistance to Mendocino County Residents who are in imminent danger of losing their rental home or are currently homeless and just need help moving into a rental. HPRP is available at UCC, Buddy Eller Center, Willits Community Services, the Coast Community Center, and Safe Passages in Fort Bragg. To qualify you must meet the income criteria and have the financial means to be self-sufficient and just need a little help finding or keeping a home.
