SERVICES: 1) EMERGENCY FOOD: Emergency groceries are available to assist eligible Cecil County households. Households receiving food stamps are NOT eligible for food assistance. 2) THRIFT SHOP: Offers free clothing to area residents in need, when available. Call for information. 3) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides financial assistance to eligiblehouseholds for eviction,first month's rent and eviction prevention (as funding permits). 4) HOLIDAY FOOD ASSISTANCE 2012: Provides Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets to families in need. Also offers housing counseling services for potential home buyers and provides information on adult education and job training courses.SERVICES:1) FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM: Helps persons to obtain resources for GED and adult education. Information and referrals are provided for job training and college courses.2) HOME OWNERSHIP (PRE-PURCHASED):Provides counseling for any resident that is interested in purchasing a home. Information workshops are offered on the thirdTuesday of eachmonth at 6PM. Potential buyers must attend the workshops and one on one counseling to get the counseling certificate required by most lending and grant programs.3) RENTAL SUBSIDY PRORAM: Provides rental assistance toincome eligible families, elderly and disabled persons afford a better place to live or assist with paying a portion of the monthly rent where the family is currently living. Household income must meet federal income guidelines.4) VETERANS AFFAIR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING: Assist veterans and their families find rental housing. Assisting the Community TogetherACT in FaithAiF is an interfaith ministry that seeks to provide physical, financial and spiritual support to those in the Greater West Chester Area whose basic human needs are going unmet by facilitating communication, coordinating support, and supplementing resources to broaden the reach of existing social services and programs.
The ACT in Faith Main Office is open at The Church of the Holy Trinity , South High & Union Streets, West Chester. Client Intake and Community Cupboard: Mondays: 10:00 AM 12:00 PM, Wednesdays: 1:00 PM 3:00 PM, and Thursdays: 10:30 AM-Noon. In addition
