Case managers also help with employment and community resources. Monetary donations are welcome. - 2) THRIFT SHOP: Provides clothing and household goods at affordable prices. Hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from 10AM-4PM. - - 3) JOB BOARD: Offers assistance with job search through referrals to outside organizations.a place were jobs are posted and works closely with Frederick County Work Force Development so it is consistently up to date. - - 4) HOLIDAY PROGRAMS 2017: Taking applications (by appointment ONLY) for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter assistance starting 10/16/17. One interview will qualify applicant for all three holidays. - oThanksgiving: Provides a food card for area grocery store to shop for holiday meal (nonperishable food items upon request). Shelters homeless animals and attempts to place them in a safe and loving environment and educates the public on all animal issues to foster a more aware and caring community. SERVICES:1) NUISANCE ANIMALS: Picks up animals that are injured, sick, aggressive, or stray. This includes wild animals that have entered homes, such as squirrels or opossums. Also investigates animal bites and ensures proper precautions are taken.2) SHELTER SERVICES: Accepts stray, ill, injured, or unwanted dogs and cats and works to have lost animals reclaimed by their owners. Unclaimed animals are placed for adoption.3) ADOPTION: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to adopt. Adopted animals must be licensed, neutered/spayed, and receive a rabies shot. Neutering/spaying is done at a veterinarian's office unless animal is already neutered or spayed. Cost of adoption varies so please call for further information.4) LOST AND FOUND PROGRAM: Takes lost and found animal reports from the public, posts at shelter for review by customers and staff.5) LICENSING: Issues county licenses for minimal cost. It is not required but is strongly suggested for easy identification if needed.6) DONATIONS: Monetary donations as well as animal food, toys, bedding, litter, pet cages, leashes, collars, pet or baby shampoos (used and samples okay), bleach, Dawn dish washing liquid, gift certificates from pet and grocery stores, and towels are needed.
