Maryland Rental Allowance Program Income Limits, 2012: Family size and gross monthly income: 1 person $18,750 2 persons $21,450 3 persons $24,100 4 persons $26,800 5 persons $28,950 6 persons $31,100 7 persons $33,200 8 persons $35,350 3) FOOD PANTRY: Provides food for needy families of Talbot County. Must provide ID, Social Security & Medical card for each household member. Pantry Hours are Mon-Thur, 9AM-12Noon & 1:30-4PM. Must provide proof of income for the past 30 days of everyone working in the household and food stamp card if client is a recipient. 4) EVICTION & HOMELESS PREVENTION: Homeless adult males and females that need shelter or short term placement receive a 30 day stay at the Ridgeway Transitional Shelter. Provides meals and assistance in finding jobs, offers basic computer skills and professional dress attire for interviews. 5) AFTER SCHOOL YOUTH PROGRAM: Provides a summer and after school program for children in kindergarten through eighth grade throughout the school year. The children are aided with their homework, have visiting guest speakers, go on field trips, and work on various other activities such as praise dancing, arts and crafts, producing skits, etc. 6) H0LIDAY ASSISTANCE 2012: For Talbot County residents only. THANKSGIVING: Provides food baskets to families in need. Sign-up begins on October 10th- until the list is full. Must provide photo id, social security cards for all household members, proof of residence, proof of income for one month or award letter needed. CHRISTMAS: Provides food baskets for families in need. Sign up begins on November 5th- 30th. Must provide photo id, social security cards for all household members, proof of residence, proof of income for one month or award letter needed. 7)FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAM:Provides household appliances and furniture to needy families.Supports families that are coping with a variety of significant problems.8)WINTER WEAR WRAP-UP: Offers coats, blankets and outwear give aways to needy families. Collaborates with other churches, local businesses and residents that donate their time and efforts in collecting these items. 9) COAT DRIVE: Accepts new or slightly worn coats, jackets or blankets to give to needy families during the fall through winter months.10) BIRTHDAY BAGS: Provided to families that cannot afford to buy their child a gift for their birthday. Bags may include a cake, toys, music or gift cards. Must have applied or attempted to apply for food stamps. Must participate in SHARE program.2) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Offers assistance with legal evictions and utility turn-offs one time per year. Prescription assistance is provided on a case by case basis. Rental assistance available every 18 months.3) GOOD NEIGHBOR FUND: Offers financial assistance for utility bills.Works like the Fuelbut for electric bills only. Must be utilized as a last resort. Will pay the last $300.4) CLOTHING/FURNITURE: Offers clothing items through the Thrift Store. Items may be free if person making request has a report from the fire or police department.5) EMERGENCY SHELTER: Provides a 9-bed shelterfor men, women and children. Residents may stay up to two weeks. They must provide two valid ID's and Social Security card upon checking in between 6pm-8pm. Breakfast and Dinner will be served and all residents must leave shelter by 8am to look for employment. Provides a wide range of housing related services to assist residents of Queen Anne's County to acquire and maintain decent safe and affordable housing. SERVICES:1) MARYLAND HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM (MHRP): Assists low to moderate income households in the county through a state program of low-interest loans for repair/renovation of properties. Applicants must meet income guidelines. 2) SECTION 8: Serves as contact point for federal Section 8 program, which offers a rental assistance that subsidizes the rent of low-income families. Participants pay no more than 30% of income toward rent.3) SENIOR HOUSING: Offers subsidized senior housing communities. Grasonville Terrace, and Terrapin Grove.4) PUBLIC HOUSING: Offers subsidized housing.5) CODE ENFORCEMENT: Enforces housing codes in Queen Anne's County.6) CRITICAL WORKFORCE PROGRAM: Offers second mortgage financing to new home buyers who meet the programs guidelines. The loan cannot exceed 33% of the total purchase price or the appraised value of the home and property whichever is less. 7) SENIOR CITIZEN HOME REPAIR: Offers homerepairs to senior citizens, low income and handicappedindividuals. The amount allotted for emergency repairs cannot exceed $500. 8) EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER PROGRAM (FEMA): Provides a federal grant program to local non-profit agencies that assist low income residents. Funds are also used for food and emergency housing and to help displaced person find suitable housing thru charitable organizations. 9) SPECIAL LOAN PROGRAM: Provides various programs to improve single families and small rental properties for low and moderate income families. 10) RENTAL ALLOWANCE PROGRAM (RAP): Provides rent subsidies to low-income residents who are either homeless or have an emergency housing need.
