SERVICES:1) MARYLAND HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM (MHRP): Assists low to moderate income households in the county through a state program of low-interest loans for repair/renovation of properties. Applicants must meet income guidelines. 2) SECTION 8: Serves as contact point for federal Section 8 program, which offers a rental assistance that subsidizes the rent of low-income families. Participants pay no more than 30% of income toward rent.3) SENIOR HOUSING: Offers subsidized senior housing communities. Grasonville Terrace, and Terrapin Grove.4) PUBLIC HOUSING: Offers subsidized housing.5) CODE ENFORCEMENT: Enforces housing codes in Queen Anne's County.6) CRITICAL WORKFORCE PROGRAM: Offers second mortgage financing to new home buyers who meet the programs guidelines. The loan cannot exceed 33% of the total purchase price or the appraised value of the home and property whichever is less. 7) SENIOR CITIZEN HOME REPAIR: Offers homerepairs to senior citizens, low income and handicappedindividuals. The amount allotted for emergency repairs cannot exceed $500. 8) EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER PROGRAM (FEMA): Provides a federal grant program to local non-profit agencies that assist low income residents. Funds are also used for food and emergency housing and to help displaced person find suitable housing thru charitable organizations. 9) SPECIAL LOAN PROGRAM: Provides various programs to improve single families and small rental properties for low and moderate income families. 10) RENTAL ALLOWANCE PROGRAM (RAP): Provides rent subsidies to low-income residents who are either homeless or have an emergency housing need. THANKSGIVING: Provides food baskets to families in need. Sign-up begins on October 10th- until the list is full. CHRISTMAS: Provides food baskets for families in need. Sign up begins on November 5th- 30th. Must provide photo id, social security cards for all household members, proof of residence, proof of income for one month or award letter needed. 7)FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAM:Provides household appliances and furniture to needy families.Supports families that are coping with a variety of significant problems.8)WINTER WEAR WRAP-UP: Offers coats, blankets and outwear give aways to needy families. Collaborates with other churches, local businesses and residents that donate their time and efforts in collecting these items. 9) COAT DRIVE: Accepts new or slightly worn coats, jackets or blankets to give to needy families during the fall through winter months.10) BIRTHDAY BAGS: Provided to families that cannot afford to buy their child a gift for their birthday.
