To empower persons with disabilities and their families to have quality lives through instruction, support, and opportunity.
1. Early Intervention Program (EIP) - Provides services to babies ages 0-5 years with disabilities or at risk of disabilities and their families. Provides services through trained professionals: physical, occupational, and speech therapist, and special family instructor. The therapist trains parents or care givers as well as provides direct therapy to the babies. This program serves Northeast Louisiana.
2. Family Relief - An individual with a disability receives home-based support. Specially trained staff provide care and assistance that enables the individual to enjoy independence in the home and community while allowing the family relief from the continual care of a family member with a developmental disability. 3.Supported Independent Living - Supports are provided to adults with developmental disabilities by obtaining regular housing opportunities in the community. Individuals may live with one-on-one assistance or with only periodic monitoring. This program serves Northeast Louisiana. Contact: (318)387-7817.
4. Supported Work - Individualized job training and work opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
5. Document Destruction Program - Local businesses with need to have documents confidentally destroyed contract with ARCO for pick up and destruction. The operation is carried on by persons with developmental disabilities.

The Ark-La-Tex Crisis Pregnancy Center was opened in 1994 The Center serves the entire community regardless of race, creed, nationality, age or marital status Any person who seeks the aid of the Center can rest assured that his or her right to privacy will never be compromised. The ArkLaTex Center also has a program where women can be assisted with diapers for their babies.

The Louisiana War Veterans' Home is a State licensed health facility managed by the Louisiana Department of Veterans' Affairs. The Jackson facility provides 161 nursing care beds.

The veteran: must be a resident of the State of Louisiana ; must have served on active military duty 90 days or more during a wartime period as defined by the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs, or had 90 consecutive days or more of service that either began or ended during a wartime period. If active military service was of less than 90 days, the veteran must have been discharged as a result of a disability incurred in the line of duty and must have received a discharge under honorable conditions for his or her most recent period of active military service; must undergo a medical examination prior to admission; must agree to pay the full resident care and maintenance fee; income; not have criminal charges pending.
All U.S. Military Veterans serving 90 days or more with honorable discharges, spouses of those veterans, and Gold Star Patients.
