The Caddo Community Action Agency, Inc. (CCAA) was established in 1966 (CAP-CAB) under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 In 1972, CAP-CAB was changed to the Caddo Community Action, Inc. (CCAA) The agency's purpose is to provide social services to the poor, disadvantaged, elderly, and handicapped persons of Caddo Parish As a non-profit organization geared towards aiding the poor, CCAA offers a multitude of services to thousands of residents in Caddo Parish The activities, policies, and procedures of the agency are supervised by the Board of Directors which consists of 21 members.

This special project provides surplus food products to eligible Caddo Parish residents to help alleviate the problem of hunger within our area of services Commodities include surplus flour, cheese, butter, meal, honey, and dry beans that have accumulated in federal warehouses Distributions are set approximately four (4) times per year Elderly, handicapped, low-income and unemployed persons receive food commodities each year from our program The program depends heavily on volunteers, such as the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP) and other caring citizens.
