Description
The SOVA Community Food & Resource Program provides free food for low-income people (including the homeless or undocumented), who live in or near West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley zip codes. Services include ongoing food assistance, occasional food assistance, and baby food/formula.

The food programs include a five-day supply of canned and packaged food, bread, produce, meat, and dairy. Kosher, vegetarian, low-sodium, and low-sugar items are available for those who request them. Baby food and formula are not always available. Participants receive assistance once a month.

If a person registers with the SOVA program they can also receive secondary services, which include case management, counseling, financial assistance, and information and referrals to other social services and legal services. Farsi, Hebrew, Spanish, and Russian are also spoken at the food pantries based on availability, and Spanish is spoken at the administrative office.

Volunteers are appreciated and donations are most welcomed.

Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 1:30pm;
Sunday, 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Eligibility
People with low income, who live in or near West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley area zip codes including people who are undocumented, homeless or who receive public assistance.

Documents Required
Official picture ID for all adult family members; birth certificates are required for children. Proof of residence also required.

First time clients must be at the food pantry half an hour before the pantry opens with an ID and proof of residence.

The St Charles Borromeo Service Center provides a food pantry where they give bags and boxes with enough food to last three days.

The soup kitchen offers a hot breakfast every Thursday.

There are volunteer opportunities available for anyone who wants to help.

Food Pantry Distribution: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:00 - 11:45 am and Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
No Saturday hours during the months of July and August.

Hot Breakfast: Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

Eligibility
Individuals and families including the homeless and the undocumented that live within the parish boundaries that extend north to Victory Blvd., south to Mulholland Dr., east to Hollywood Way, and West to Laurel Canyon.

Persons living outside our boundaries may receive assistance one time.

Documents Required
ID for all family members and proof of residence are required. Individuals must certify that they meet the maximum income guidelines issued by the Emergency Food Assistance Program.

ID, proof of residency in Los Angeles County, proof of income, and a nutrition screening completed by a dietician or medical provider at their own health care facility or have a signed nutrition education form from AIDS Project Los Angeles.

First-time clients must provide a medical diagnosis form.
