Friends in Deed provides a limited rent payment assistance help for people becoming homeless through eviction.

There are volunteer opportunities available for anyone who wants to help.


Hours
Monday through Thursday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm, and on Friday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Eligibility
Must be Pasadena residents. Individuals need to have a 3 or 30 day eviction notice, a rental agreement under individuals name, be currently living in the city of Pasadena, have incoming income to show rent sustainability, and fall under the income limits. For information regarding qualifications for this program please call for a screening appointment. Please, no walk-ins.

Provides utility bill assistance for low income residential customers of Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) through Project APPLE. Service includes electricity service payment assistance. People can apply for service once in a twelve month period. Eligible applicants can receive up to $100 on the electricity portion of the bill; the program cannot assist with the water portion of the bill.

The Chinatown Service Center provides utility payment assistance for residential customers of the Southern California Edison through the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF). They will pay up to $100 per house, and up to $200 for all-electric houses. They can also help qualified Southern California households to pay a one-time gas bill of up to $100 through the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF). Assistance for both programs is provided once a year.
