Description
The Women's Transitional Living Shelter, INC. is a domestic-abuse shelter for women with or without children. Single men with or without children can be accepted depending on their case. Children who are under 18 must live with their parent in the shelter, and there is no limit to the amount of children. The program will accept people with substance abuse problems. The program cannot accommodate people who have severe physical or mental disabilities that would interfere with their participation in shelter activities.

The shelter provides individual and group counseling; advocacy with other agencies, if needed; a children's program; assistance in obtaining a TRO; and assistance in making future plans. The maximum length of stay is 90 days. Residents must stay in the shelter for the first 72 hours of their intake.

Volunteers are appreciated.

The hotline is staffed Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day.

Eligibility
For battered people with or without children, including people who are hearing impaired; single men and men with children are accepted on a case-by-case basis. The program primarily serves people who live in Orange County, however, people from other areas may apply and are assisted, if possible. There are no geographic restrictions.

The North Valley Caring Services offers showers, towels, and hygiene supplies. Their showers are first-come, first-served, and are for the first 12 people at opening. They provide clothing with showers.

The also provide a safe place to park and sleep for homeless people with cars.

The Anaheim Emergency Shelter offers services for men and women with case managers, housing, recovery, and employment navigators work with guests to help stabilize their lives. The shelter provides showers, bedding, linen, breakfast, and dinner. Description
The Domestic Violence Program provides shelter for abused men and women, 18 or older, with or without children.

Residents aren't allowed to leave the shelter for the first 72 hours upon arrival; people who work are asked to take a leave of absence from their work for two weeks. If prior appointments, such as medical or legal appointments, arrangements will be made.

For safety, those who live or work in the immediate area of the shelter will be referred to a different shelter.

Services provided include TRO assistance, group counseling, individual counseling, residents' children counseling, parent education, welfare advocacy, and court accompaniment. Residents must follow the rules and participate in house chores.

There are volunteer opportunities available for anyone who wants to help.

Eligibility
For battered women and men, with or without children up to age 18; including lesbians, individuals who are undocumented, pregnant, or who have disabilities. The shelter may not be able to accommodate people who are admitted drug abusers, are exhibiting behavior that is considered dangerous to themselves or others, and those receiving immediate medical or nursing care. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to residents of the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County Supervisorial District V. There are no geographic restrictions.

This transitional housing campus is for single women and children who are experiencing homelessness. Also provides supportive housing for senior women in the Sequoia Lodge.

Hope Gardens helps women transition from homelessness to independence within 12 to 36 months by offering long-term rehabilitation programs, services, and spiritual care.

Women and children have a safe place to live while they receive counseling, training, encouragement, and the real help they need to escape homelessness forever.

The Family Program is designed to help single mothers gain the skills, support, and necessary resources to recover from past trauma — while planning for the future and preparing to maintain permanent housing. They receive the following support and services:

Access to medical and dental care

The Youth Development Program provides a supportive and empowering environment for children who live with their mothers at Hope Gardens. They receive the following support and services:

Infants and preschool-aged children participate in onsite childcare and early childhood development programs.

The Senior Care Program offers affordable permanent housing for elderly ladies who have been devastated by homelessness — allowing them to live with dignity in their twilight years. They receive the following support and services:

24/7 security

Medical and legal referrals
Access to a library, computers, dining area, kitchen, sewing room, living/community room, atrium chapel, patio, and garden grounds.

San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission

Description
The San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission provides shelter for whole families in Los Angeles County at their Home Again facility. Anyone 18 years or younger are accepted and an adult must have full custody of minors. Men and teenagers are also allowed in the program if they are part of the family. The maximum length of stay for families is 90 days.

The mission can hold up to 90 people. Bedding, blankets, and two meals a day are included. No smoking, drinking, or drug use is allowed on the premises. Residents are required to save at least 80% of their income. Residents must be employed or become employed within 30 days of the intake.

There are also counseling and life skill classes. Once accepted, participants are invited for a one-on-one interview right before their admission into the mission. Admissions can only be made on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Field trips and special events are included.

Families must be residents of California for at least one year; and no families with 6 or more members can be accepted.

People who have felony convictions or who are active substance abusers cannot be accepted.

Applicants and anyone in the family 14 years and older must pass a drug test upon intake.

Applicants cannot be actively fleeing a domestic violence situation.

Description
The Angel's Way Shelter provides shelter for single pregnant women 18 and over who have no other children with them. This shelter is not an emergency shelter or same-day shelter. This program cannot accept pregnant women with children, pregnant women with communicable diseases, alcohol or drug dependency, or severe mental and or emotional disorders. This program accepts women at any stage or their pregnancy, and participants may stay up to two months after the baby is born.

The shelter can accommodate up to four women. Anyone who stays must assist with chores, attend school, work or participate in a volunteer program, and sign an agreement of compliance with the shelter, which includes no smoking.

Residents participate in weekly counseling sessions that discuss the options of raising the baby or putting it up for adoption. Support services include nutrition, childbirth, infant care, self-esteem/motivation, and homemaking classes.

The program accepts donations of maternity clothes, baby clothes, and household items.

Description
Mary's Shelter provides shelter for pregnant or mothering women under the age of 18, and from at risk homes girls until they are legal adults. For guests, they can stay until their baby is two years old. The shelter provides shared rooms, three meals a day and cooking and laundry facilities are available.
