Description
The Young Adult Transitional Living Program provides shelter for youths aged 18 to 24, including LGBT and former foster youths in Los Angeles County.

The program is 18 to 24 months. Housing is provided in apartments; facilities are co-ed and may be congregated. Participants must work part-time minimally or attend school, and enroll in a savings plan to allow them to live independently when they leave.

Secondary services include case management, permanent housing planning, mental health counseling, clothing, transportation, referrals for medical services, referrals for educational services, referrals for educational and vocational services, job development and internships in the community, mentoring, independent living skills, life coaching, mentoring and financial literacy.

Volunteer opportunities are appreciated.

Hours
Intake hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Eligibility
Youths aged 18 to 24. Applicants must not have any current DCFS involvement and meet HUD definition of homelessness.

The Ascencia Emergency Housing provides 40 emergency shelter beds for families with children and adults for 60 to 90 days. Description
The Womenshelter of Long Beach provides shelter for domestic violence victims of both genders and ages. Male children 17 and younger and female children of any age are allowed. Women are asked to take a leave of absence from their jobs while at the shelter. People can stay 30-45 days. Three meals and bedding are given. Guests have to participate in a case management program, observe the 5:30 pm curfew, and follow shelter rules. Other services they offer include parenting education, counseling, and different services.

Volunteer opportunities are available for anyone who wants to help.

Eligibility
For men, women and their children. Victims must be in an intimate relationship with their abuser and have a recent DV incident in order to quality for our DV emergency shelter. The shelter cannot accept women who abuse alcohol or drugs, or who have a severe mental or emotional disturbance. There are no geographic restrictions.

Description
The Torrance Community Service Center provides shelter for single women, pregnant women, single mothers with children of either gender birth to 17, adults with jobs, families, and adults with or without children. They can accommodate people with disabilities as long as they care for themselves and their children if they have any. Shelter can be provided for one month to two years. Services offered are counseling, case management, life skills training, and other services. Other necessities they provide are food, toiletries, hygiene supplies, and household supplies.

For the youth shelter, they offer shelter for people 10 to 17 who have been physically or sexually abused. Permission from a parent or a guardian is necessary, but if unobtainable, permission from a social worker will be fine. Guests must follow the rules, and they can stay up to two weeks. Services they offer are counseling, education, vocational life skills, and other services. Other necessities like food, toiletries, hygiene supplies, and household supplies are provided for free.

Volunteer opportunities are available for those who want to help.

Description
The Safe Place for Youth offers a drop-in center for people 12 to 25 and other services like case management, housing referrals, return home travel, bathing facilities, mail services, and other types of service.

They also offer hosting house programs, where they will help you find a person who is willing to let you stay for three to six months.

The Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter offers a domestic violence shelter. There is a 72-hour hold, during which people who work are requested to take a leave of absence for the three days minimum, if possible. The maximum length of stay is 45 days.

Different services include individual, group, and family counseling, parenting education, a school program for children 5-13, legal counseling, accompaniment to court for TRO's, and other services.

The Domestic Violence Program provides shelter for abused women and their children, from either gender and up to 18. The shelter can accommodate women who use wheelchairs, but not women who abuse drugs or alcohol or have severe mental or emotional disturbances. People may stay up to 45 days.

They provide group and individual counseling and child care as needed. Residents must follow the curfew, assist with chores, and follow the house rules, which prohibit the use of alcohol or drugs, and the physical punishment of children.
