Description
The Sieman Family Youth and Community Center provides electric payment assistance. The program starts in February and goes on until the money is gone. People are assisted once every year. Customers of the Department of Water & Power are not assisted.

They also provide gas assistance in the same way they provide electric assistance.

There are volunteer opportunities available for anyone who wants to help.

Description
The South Los Angeles Center offers rent payment assistance, utility payment assistance, and mortgage payment assistance for anyone with HIV or AIDS who can't pay their rent because of the disease.

Volunteer opportunities are available for anyone who wants to help.

Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 7:00pm.

Eligibility
Many services are restricted to people who are HIV or who have AIDS; age and income restrictions apply for some services; some are targeted to gay and bisexual men.

Description
The Salvation Army of Southeast Communities Huntington Park location offers utility payment assistance to those who need it. The program will not pay re-connection or deposit fees.

There is another program that provides utility bill assistance for residential customers of Southern California Edison through the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF). EAF will pay up to $100 for every household and $200 for every electrical household. Assistance can only be received once every 12 months.

The agency also receives private funding for gas bill assistance for residents of Downey and Huntington Park.

Intake hours for year-round utility bill assistance are Tuesday or Friday, 1:00pm to 3:30pm. Call to schedule an appointment.

Description
The Los Angeles Community Service Center and & Family Source Center offers services such as rent payment assistance, rent deposit payment assistance, mortgage payment assistance, electric payment assistance, housing search assistance, job search assistance, and financial counseling to homeless veterans or veterans at risk of homelessness.

The case management program helps with critical needs services including accessing food, health clinics, applying for benefits, and obtaining household supplies.

Volunteers and donations are welcome.

The hotlines operate Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day.

The Chinatown Service Center provides utility payment assistance for residential customers of the Southern California Edison through the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF). They will pay up to $100 per house, and up to $200 for all-electric houses. They can also help qualified Southern California households to pay a one-time gas bill of up to $100 through the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF). Assistance for both programs is provided once a year.
