Description
The Los Angeles Community Service Center and & Family Source Center offers services such as rent payment assistance, rent deposit payment assistance, mortgage payment assistance, electric payment assistance, housing search assistance, job search assistance, and financial counseling to homeless veterans or veterans at risk of homelessness.

The case management program helps with critical needs services including accessing food, health clinics, applying for benefits, and obtaining household supplies.

Volunteers and donations are welcome.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Evenings and Saturdays by appointment.
The hotlines operate Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day.

LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
Eligible community residents get financial help to pay their utility bills. It is available through our Los Angeles Community Service Center.

New Directions for Veterans provides rent payment assistance, rent deposit assistance, and electric payment assistance. The program provides housing for homeless veterans, or veterans who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Services include housing search assistance, personal financial counseling, job search/placement assistance, rental deposit assistance, rent payment assistance, and undesignated temporary financial assistance. The agency primarily assists the SPA 3 San Gabriel Valley area; however, there are no geographic restrictions.

The Bienestar Human Services San Fernando Valley Center has and provides services to people with HIV/AIDS such as rent payment assistance, rent deposit payment assistance, mortgage payment assistance, and electric payment assistance. There are two main programs: Permanent Housing Placement Grant and Short Term Rent Mortgage and Utilities.

The agency also provides referrals to emergency and transitional housing programs.

Description
The Support The Enlisted Project provides rent payment assistance, rent deposit payment assistance, mortgage payment assistance, electric payment assistance, and non-designated temporary financial assistance.

There are also other services for critical needs, and they include: groceries, past due rent, past due utility bills, past due car payments, past due auto insurance payments, mechanical repair of a vehicle, baby needs (diapers, wipes, etc.) or other critical items on a case-by-case basis.

In 2018, the program's volunteers contributed 7,896 hours. Volunteers are greatly appreciated.

Eligibility
Active duty enlisted military personnel must be in the pay grades of E1 through E6 to receive services. Veterans must have been honorably discharged from the military within the last 18 months to receive services.
