The Midnight Mission provides bathing facilities, mail facilities, a homeless shelter for women, and a safe sleep shelter.

The bathing facilities are available as needed for men, women, and children. There is also a beautician to assist the women till noon. There is a full barber service for men 3 times a week.

Their mail service is for anyone who wants to receive mail. The facility is usually for homeless people, but can be used by people without proper identification.

Their women's shelter provides shelter, meals, career training, case management, and other services.

Their safe sleep program offers shelter for hard-to-reach customers who tend to avoid shelter beds and require other basic needs. They provide a separate rooms designed just for families.

The transitional housing program offers substance abuse treatment facilities. It is for men who seek to get off the street, strive for healthy living and achieve self-sufficiency.

For anyone who wants to help, there are volunteer opportunities available.

Mail Service: Monday through Friday 9:30am – 5:00pm. The mailroom is closed from 12:30pm – 2:00pm daily for lunch.

Shower Facilities: Monday through Friday (call to schedule a time)

Barber Service: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am – 2:00pm.

For people in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles. There are no geographic restrictions.

Residential Substance Abuse Disorder Treatment Facilities Program
For men 18 years and older who wish to get off the streets, improve the quality of their lives, and are willing to work within the agency. The program does not accept men who receive GR assistance, but will refer men to the appropriate office for assistance if they are in need when they leave the program.

The Dream Center offers a substance abuse shelter for adults aged 18 to 59. The shelter is Christian-oriented. The program lasts about one to three years. Services include residential alcohol use disorder treatment and residential drug use disorder treatment.

The shelter group and individual counseling, work therapy programs, and referrals to other community services to achieve sobriety and independence. Participants learn coping techniques based on the Christian philosophy. Residents participate in the Center's outreach programs and practice Christian Discipleship for recovery.

The center offers support for people who are coping with a variety of issues including anger, depression; and the effects of mental, physical, and emotional abuse.

There is also a Veteran's Transitional Housing/Shelter that lasts one year to help military veterans transition back to civilian life. The program assists veterans in developing social skills, finding employment resources, continuing in education, and growing in a like-minded environment.

There is also a youth shelter for the emancipated. The shelter is open to people aged 18 to 23 who have been a ward of the state through foster care or probation.

There is also a family shelter which provides shelter for up to six months. A case manager is assigned to each family and assists them in finding permanent housing and becoming independent. Other resources are also available, such as classes and tutoring for GED, money-management courses, and vocational training.

Volunteers are greatly appreciated.

Long Beach Rescue Mission - Samaritan House

The Long Beach Rescue Mission Samaritan House is a shelter for homeless men and men with addictions.

If you want to stay you have to line up outside the shelter staring from 3:15pm to 3:30pm. The shelter opens at 3:30pm. Names are put on the bed.

The shelter also provides a christian-oriented drug and alcohol addiction program that includes bible studies, work therapy, and counseling. The program lasts one year. Applicants must have an interview before intake.
