The North Valley Caring Services provides free food programs such as ongoing assistance and soup kitchens.
Services include groceries and a hot breakfast program. Groceries include canned goods and bread. Baby food is sometimes available. The amount of food given depends on family size and typically lasts three days. Assistance can only be received twice every calendar month for groceries.
Individuals may visit as often as needed for the hot breakfast.
The agency also has an Outreach Meal Program to help homeless families living in motels and homeless people on the streets of North East Valley.
Donations are appreciated and volunteers are welcome.

The St. Ferdinand's Outreach Center provides free groceries for people in Pacoima, San Fernando, and Sylmar. The Service is a food line that offers canned and dried goods, fruits, vegetables, and other groceries.
Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Intake and distribution hours are the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, 8:00am.
Individuals and families of Pacoima, San Fernando and Sylmar.
The Peace Lutheran Church offers free food once a month on a first-come, first-served basis. The amount of food varies with family size, and baby food is sometimes available.
Second and third Saturday of the month, 9:00am to 11:00am.
For people who live in Lake View Terrace, including people who are undocumented or who are homeless. Participants can receive assistance once per month. There are no geographic restrictions. Service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
