Description
The Womenshelter of Long Beach provides shelter for domestic violence victims of both genders and ages. Male children 17 and younger and female children of any age are allowed. Women are asked to take a leave of absence from their jobs while at the shelter. People can stay 30-45 days. Three meals and bedding are given. Guests have to participate in a case management program, observe the 5:30 pm curfew, and follow shelter rules. Other services they offer include parenting education, counseling, and different services.

Volunteer opportunities are available for anyone who wants to help.

Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day.

Eligibility
For men, women and their children. Victims must be in an intimate relationship with their abuser and have a recent DV incident in order to quality for our DV emergency shelter. The shelter cannot accept women who abuse alcohol or drugs, or who have a severe mental or emotional disturbance. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Casa de Los Angelitos provides shelter for six pregnant women 18 and older in Los Angeles County, including undocumented women.

Services are specifically for, but not limited to, women in the first six months of pregnancy. Women can stay until their baby is three months old. Residents must help with household chores, and participate in a program to learn about child birth, nutrition, infant care, parenting, and other classes.

The shelter is $200 per month. They must be willing to apply to TANF (GR and Calworks), Food Stamps, and WIC program. They must also be willing to secure proper medical services and attend appointments, go to counseling, parenting and life skill classes, go to school, work or do volunteer services, do random drug tests, and participate in goal planning and commit to following their individual program plans.

Haven Hills is an emergency shelter for abused men and women, including transgender people and children (aged 17 or younger). Single women can also be accepted. There is a 72-hour hold upon entering the shelter, and residents are asked to take a leave from their jobs for their first 30 days in the shelter.
