Description
The Salvation Army of Compton provides no-cook food in the form of snack packs. Fruit, cereal and other snack foods are included in the snack packs. Ongoing emergency food assistance and a soup kitchen is also available. The service area for the no cook food and soup kitchen is restricted to Compton, Lynwood, Paramount and South Gate residents.

Hot meals are provided one night a week for families, couples and individuals who are homeless or without cooking facilities. The meal is prepared and served by members of neighborhood churches. People may receive this service as often as needed.

They also provide a bag of food once every 30 days that consists of canned goods and dry goods such as cereal and pasta.

Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Description
The Necessities of Life Program provides free food to low-income people with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County.

The program is ongoing emergency food assistance, and the typical bag of groceries include items such as frozen meat, fresh produce, fresh dairy, canned and dry goods, as well as hygiene and cleaning items.

NOLP clients may also receive bilingual, one-on-one nutritional counseling and nutrition classes. Fact sheets about a range of nutrition topics and recipes for use with NOLP products are available in all NOLP locations.

The program actively recruits volunteers to work with the food distribution program.

Eligibility
Low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. Clients must have a monthly income of less then $1,700. Services are restricted to Service Planning Areas (SPAs) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8.

Documents Required
ID, proof of residency in Los Angeles County, proof of income, and a nutrition screening completed by a dietician or medical provider at their own health care facility or have a signed nutrition education form from AIDS Project Los Angeles.

First-time clients must provide a medical diagnosis form.

Description
The City of Paramount Community Services & Recreation Department provides food for seniors aged 60 and above in Los Angeles County.

The program offers boxes of food which may include canned and dried goods, and also fresh fruit and vegetables. Services can be received only once a month.

There is also another program where hot lunches are also available at the center, and home-delivered meals are available for home-bound
seniors or seniors who have difficulty preparing their own meals. Eligible people can apply for the weekday home-delivered noon meal service, and frozen meals are delivered on weekdays for weekend and holiday use. Participants can also attend social and recreational events.

There is a suggested donation of $2.25 per meal for the meal programs, but no one is turned away because of an inability to pay.

Volunteers are accepted and appreciated.

Nutrition Program: Monday through Friday, 12:00pm, seniors must arrive by 12:30pm to be served.

Food Pantry: For older adults age 60 and older in Los Angeles County. Age restriction, no geographic restriction. Individuals must be registered with the Regional Food Bank in order to receive services.

Nutrition Program: For seniors age 60 and older who reside in Paramount and the surrounding areas. A reservation is required for the meal.
