Provides a wide range of housing related services to assist residents of Queen Anne's County to acquire and maintain decent safe and affordable housing. SERVICES:1) MARYLAND HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM (MHRP): Assists low to moderate income households in the county through a state program of low-interest loans for repair/renovation of properties. Applicants must meet income guidelines. 2) SECTION 8: Serves as contact point for federal Section 8 program, which offers a rental assistance that subsidizes the rent of low-income families. Participants pay no more than 30% of income toward rent.3) SENIOR HOUSING: Offers subsidized senior housing communities. Grasonville Terrace, and Terrapin Grove.4) PUBLIC HOUSING: Offers subsidized housing.5) CODE ENFORCEMENT: Enforces housing codes in Queen Anne's County.6) CRITICAL WORKFORCE PROGRAM: Offers second mortgage financing to new home buyers who meet the programs guidelines. The loan cannot exceed 33% of the total purchase price or the appraised value of the home and property whichever is less. 7) SENIOR CITIZEN HOME REPAIR: Offers homerepairs to senior citizens, low income and handicappedindividuals. Potential buyers must attend the workshops and one on one counseling to get the counseling certificate required by most lending and grant programs.3) RENTAL SUBSIDY PRORAM: Provides rental assistance toincome eligible families, elderly and disabled persons afford a better place to live or assist with paying a portion of the monthly rent where the family is currently living.
