Provides dormitory-style transitional shelter with three meals a day for homeless men, preferably those referred by VA hospital or area homeless shelters. Provides medical referrals to VA hospital, vocational counseling, job readiness, budget and savings planning, and support services after completion of program. Women in Shelby County who are homeless and receiving some form of public assistance, with up to two children; also accepts single women. Women who are accepted into the program must be seeking to improve their situation, If women do not have a GED, they must be willing to take steps to acquire one; or, they must be willing to get a job, and to show evidence of intent to improve their lives. Two or more women might share a house together. There are no house monitors; women are expected to monitor their own comings and goings. If the rules are not adhered to, they will be asked to leave.
Ex-Offenders are welcome to apply, but the facility is not equipped to handle persons with special needs or mental illness issues.
