Provides a heating assistance benefit (LIHEAP) to eligible households for home heating expenses. Households eligible for assistance are not eligible for benefits under the State Heating Assistance Program.
Provides financial assistance for a variety of basic needs, such as child care subsidies, rent and utility payment assistance, work-related expenses, non-medical disaster-related expenses and student financial expenses.
Provides child care subsidies for those going to school and or working.
Provides financial assistance to individuals / families whose home and/or personal possessions are either destroyed or damaged through forces beyond their control, such as in a fire. Assistance payments are for basic non-medical essential needs of food, clothing, shelter and utilities.
Provides financial assistance for basic essential needs such as rent and utilities while complying with the program requirements of obtaining training and/or employment, as well as participating in community work experience.
Provides applicants who are employed and needing work related financial assistance for transportation to the work site, work clothing, tools or other material; or, has been recently employed and needing cash assistance until receipt of first paycheck.
Provides scholarships and grants to eligible applicants while attending Higher Education, Vocational Training, Certification Training, Short-term Training, or other training based on reasonable and necessary unmet need and availability of funds. A Tuition Stipend may be provided towards tuition, books, fees; or, Monthly Stipend to be used for essential basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and transportation to school.
Individuals who are Alaska Native/American Indian of a federally-recognized Tribe from an Aleutian/Pribilof Islands regional Tribe or residing in Aleutian/Pribilof Islands Region. Must meet income guidelines for some programs.
