There are many homeless services in the Eagle River, AK region, including shelters of all types, bathing facilities, and mail facilities. And, if you want to help, there are also volunteer opportunities available.
Provides a place for the homeless and hungry to rest and relax, eat, read, watch TV, make a phone call, or just to get off the street for couple of hours to relax.
The day shelter also offers basic necessities like bar of soap. a pair of foot warmers, cough syrup etc. Guests are also offered housing, mental health, Medical, financial, substance abuse, jobs, anything else a client might need.
Provides emergency overnight shelter serving adult men and women who are homeless age 18 years and older, with a capacity of 240 beds.
Services also include evening meals, showers, access to laundry facilities, a clothing room, medical clinic and women's health clinic and case management.

The shower house is open daily and can accommodate up 24 showers each day. Guests have the opportunity to refresh themselves with access to clean clothing and laundry service.

Youth shelter provides three meals per day, clean clothes and a safe place to stay.
Counseling and services prioritizes reconciliation with family, but in cases where that is not possible, assists with life skills necessary to become fully independent.
As youths gain stability, they can apply for a transitional living program (ages 18-24) that assists with education, job training and basic life skills to help them transition into a fully self sufficient lifestyle.
The Salvation Army McKinnell House provides temporary shelter to families in need.
Families are required to seek employment, if unemployed and children would be provided with educational resources.
The shelter has 16 family rooms with private bathroom, common dinning area and children's play area. Families are provided meals and snacks as well as lifresupport skills.
The shelter is open 24 hours and has staff support. Families can stay up to 30 days. As families move toward self sufficiency the length of stay could be extended depending on individual family's situation.
The McKinnell House continues to provides families with case management services for 6 months after independent living.

A voluntary shelter for women with children and expectant mother. Shelter offers food,water, safe environment and other necessities to its guests.

Eligibility
Family must be homeless – preference is given to applicants sleeping in a car, camp, or on the street
Female head of household must be 18 years of age or older with:
a child or children under the age of 18
a dependent adult child up to the age of 21
(proof of guardianship is required)
a pregnancy
Able to provide proof of guardianship for children in your care
Able to provide picture identification
May not be a registered sex offender in any state
Provides showers and hygiene products for homeless men and women one day per week. They also launder the clothing you are wearing while you shower so that you will have clean clothes to wear when you are finished.
