OVERVIEW: Offers an emergency shelter for women, men and families. Also provides food giveaway, school supplies and holiday assistance. - - SERVICES: - 1) SHELTER: Provides a 24-hour emergency shelter with 72 beds (includes 13 family rooms) that provides residents with food, clothing, counseling and referrals to social service agencies. Intake starts at 5:30pm and all residents will have to sign out of the shelter daily between 8:30-9AM. Accepts only three people each day into the shelter, a family consists of one person (unless there is an emergency). All residents entering the shelter will have two weeks to get a job or provide evidence of diligent daily efforts to obtain work and housing. Those who are able to obtain work or provide evidence of efforts in obtaining work may be extended a maximum stay of 30 days in the shelter. - - 2) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2017 (CLOSED): Provides Christmas toys to children staying in the shelter and anyone in need. Distributes toys on Sat Dec 16 at 9AM on a first come first serve basis until all toys are given away. Parents must have child with them in order to receive any toys. Also provides food bags to individuals and families in need. - - 3) SCHOOL SUPPLIES 2017: Provides a wide variety of back packs filled with school supplies for students in head start thru 12th grade. Clothes will also be given away for free and individuals must bring their own bags or boxes for their items. Operates on a first come first serve basis until all items are distributed. It will be held on Sat 8/19 at 8am until supplies last. Parents must have child with them in order to get school supplies. - -

OVERVIEW: Provides a wide range of services to homeless and anyone in need such as emergency shelter for men, women and women with children. Tutoring in basic literacy to adults, spiritual counseling to anyone facing difficult life issues and donation centers to drop off clothing, food and household items. Also provides a cafe that serves breakfast and dinner to anyone in need. - - SERVICES: - 1) CENTER OF HOPE ( EMERGENCY SHELTER): Operates a year round 80 bed emergency shelter for men, women and women with children from 6PM-7:30AM. Must call the administration office at 410-742-9356 starting at 10AM to register for a bed. Individuals must be at the Shelter by 7PM or they will loose their bed for the night (there are NO intakes on Sat & Sun for entry). Bedding is available for 90 days and quests can re-enter in 60 days. Must be at least 18 or older, provide a picture ID and Social Security cards for each of the children. Any food, clothing, furniture or household items can be dropped off at this site. - - 2) CENTER OF HOPE (DAY FACILITY): Offers a safe structured place where homeless individuals and families can go during the daytime hours, Mon-Fri 8:45AM-4:30PM. Services includes: case management, mail services, showers, locked storage facility, restrooms and education opportunities that offers GED and life skill classes. Homeless quests will receive a $10 voucher that can be used at the Bargain Center. - - 3) RESPITE AND RESOURCE CENTER: Provides community based one stop shop for homeless individuals. Agencies within the community are made available to offer services to anyone in need. Offers tutors from the county that will assist youth with homework assignments and play time for children. Summer camp will be offered as a vacation bible school for youth and will also assist with proper college registration forms. Breakfast is served Sun-Sat from 7:30-8:30AM, lunch on Mon-Fri from 12Noon-1PM (lunch is provided as a bag lunch and given out during breakfast on Sat & Sun). Dinner is served Sun-Sat from 6-7PM. - - 6) BARGAIN CENTER (THRIFT STORE): Provides quality clothing, furniture and household items at affordable prices to the general public. They are located at 701 Snowhill Rd, Mon-Sat 10AM-5PM. - - 7) DONATION CENTER: Accepts new and used clothing, furniture, household items and food. The application process starts in October and families fill out a wish list for each of their children. The wish list is given to any individual, agency or groups that would like to adopt the family. Residents may stay up to two weeks but will bay be extended beyond 2 weeks for special cases. They must provide two valid ID's and Social Security card upon checking in between 7PM-9PM. Clothing and shoe sizes for children 12 and under will be needed.
