Description
The Dream Center Is Kern County's Only One-stop Resource Center For Current And Former Foster Youth. Provides Youth With Independent Living Skills, Linkages To Social Services, And Post-secondary Education, Counseling Services; Access To Calfresh And Medical Benefits, Tutoring, Life Skills, And Support To Obtain Educational And/or Vocational Goals. Youth Can Also Receive Immediate Assistance With Housing, Emergency, Food, Personal Hygiene Items, Clothing, Household Items, As Well As Access To Computers, Phone, Fax, And Transportation Services.

Description
Spiritual help and beds, clothing, food, and counseling service for men. Check-in time for overnight (6:30 pm - 6:30 am) guests is from 6:30 pm to 6:45 pm on a first-come/first-served basis. Attendance at Gospel service each day at 7:30 pm is mandatory. Dinner at 8:30 pm. Lunch is served Sundays after the 11 am service. Meals are open to everyone who attends the service - men, women, and children. Clothing for men Monday through Thursday 9 - 11 am and 1 - 3 pm, Friday and Saturday 9 - 11 am. Drug and Alcohol Program: apply Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 9 am - 2 pm (men only) to be screened and fill out an application. 12-Step program requires minimum 45 week commitment; no maximum. Participants are expected to do in-kind chores as needed.

Description
Outreach to youth experiencing homelessness living on the streets, in abandoned buildings, in camps, etc. Nurturing, hot meals, shower, laundry facilities, clothing, mail, and telephone. Services include counseling, case management and referral services, on-site junior high and high school program, referral and placement, music, computers, and art, preparation for employment, referral for medical and dental care and opportunity for recreation and socialization and drug and alcohol counseling. In addition, free legal clinic for teens last Friday each month 9 - 11:30 am.Emergency 12 bed overnight shelter for youth ages 11 - 18, seven days a week.Individuals interested in volunteering may request a volunteer packet from the Administrative Office.
