- The Villa Majella provides shelter for five pregnant women 18 years and older, for after three to six months after birth, and sometimes up to one year, and they can accommodate substance abusive women who want to give birth in a sober environment, but you must have been sober for thirty days before entering the shelter.
They provide food, toiletries, maternity clothes, and baby items for those who can't provide for themselves. After birth, they might have to start looking for a car to buy, going to school or work, and finding permanent housing. Every guest is required to help with household chores and smoking and drugs or alcohol are all prohibited. There is a $50 room deposit fee.
There are many types of volunteer opportunities available, including babysitting, education on nutrition, and other opportunities.
