There are many homeless services in the Amarillo, TX region, including shelters of all types, bathing facilities, and mail facilities. And, if you want to help, there are also volunteer opportunities available.
Shelter is provided for men who have no place to go, (men must be over age 18). Shelter is for 1 to 14 days in a month (exceptions are made in extremely bad weather); shower facilities and 38 beds are available in this shelter; no registered sex offenders are allowed in this shelter. The program's stay is limited to 60 days while saving money and finding a place of your own. Hope for Men Discipleship is a one-year long program for men staying at the shelter who need to work on specific needs. The first eight months, men will work on assigned jobs and must remain on the premises. The last 4 months of the program disciples receive help finding a job outside the ministry to earn money and establish themselves in the community.
